The Care Academy at Life Sciences UTC

The Care Academy at the Life Sciences UTC will allow students the opportunity to develop their health and social care skills within the NHS and the wider healthcare sector. Students will build their academic and theoretical knowledge at the Care Academy with our specialist health and social care team. Students will build the essential soft skills, such as compassion, dignity and empathy through real work experience based within local NHS trusts and independent healthcare providers. Students will also have the opportunity to learn practical techniques, such as venepuncture and catheterisation with our specialist clinical educators. Students will work towards completing professional accreditations to support their future progression into the sector.

The Care Academy programme will provide students with a range of opportunities and options at the end of their programme including further study at degree level or employment within the health and social care sector. This is the ideal foundation if you are looking to pursue a career in nursing, midwifery or any of the other NHS healthcare or Social Care related careers.
