What is BTEC Level 1 / 2 First Award in Animal Care?
Animal Care is designed to give an introductory overview to some of the key principles, knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to the animal care sector. Learners will study animal health and will develop their safe animal handling skills, which is vital in order to effectively care for animals.
Why study this course?
This course is ideal if you are new to animal care or have some knowledge and basic skills. You may want to develop your skills, perhaps to start work in a pet shop, animal shelter or kennel or prepare for further training
What can you expect from this course?
You will gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of species, from reptiles and birds, to native mammals! This will provide you with the confidence, knowledge and experience needed to secure employment within the growing sector.

3 units of coursework, 1 external exam
