Life Sciences UTC takes part in the Northern Schools Trust Chess Tournament
At Life Sciences UTC, we take great pride in fostering analytical and strategic thinking amongst our students, and this was on full display at the NST Chess Tournament held on Wednesday, 5th March at North Liverpool Academy.
With chess becoming an increasingly prominent part of our academic culture, this event was a fantastic opportunity for our students to challenge themselves and compete at a high level.
Our students, alongside those from other schools in the trust, participated in 20-minute matches, demonstrating remarkable focus and tactical expertise. The resilience and determination exhibited throughout the tournament was truly inspiring.
While North Liverpool Academy claimed the top spot and Gateacre secured second place, every participant should be commended for their effort and sportsmanship.
Chess is more than just a game; it enhances problem-solving skills, concentration, and strategic thinking, all of which are vital for academic and personal success.
We are excited to continue nurturing this enthusiasm for chess within our school community and look forward to competing in future tournaments. Congratulations to all involved for making this a memorable event.
